Huon Valley zebra finches 1

Heckle and Jeckle as seen in the Huon Valley today … we hope they don’t displace the native painted firetails

Seems everyone and everything is moving into the Huon Valley.

Including zebra finches. Although these guys do look aviary escapees, the one on the left being somewhat mutated n’all.

Anyone else seen zebra finches? The way these things breed puts mice to shame.

Tasmania already has many feral birds … rainbow lorikeets, mallard ducks, goldfinches, greenfinches, myna, even the superb lyrebird is a feral import.

Meanwhile, keep an eye out for one of these spectacular native birds.
