Heat wave in the Huon Valley

Howabout this heat?
The picture is our friend’s thermometer today, located in the shaded cool end of their verandah in the supposedly cold and damp Huon Valley.
Hot it may be, but the nearish Grove and New Norfolk BOM weather stations clocked records of 40C+ back in 2013, so it’s not new.

It was a real heat wave for Hobart and southern Taz.
Inland, where it tends to be a bit hotter, locals were walking around in circles, if they could be bothered walking at all.
Smarter Tasmanians don’t agree with Donald Trump’s view that “we need more of that global warming”.
Tasmania, being a giant forest, tends to burn when it gets hot and dry.
It’s also windy (the roaring 40s), which is not a good combo for fires.
The island is the driest state after South Australia.
Those mossy Taz pix you often see are in the small wet rainforests.
But we love it here anyway.
