23/9/2019 – Congrats in order, it’s twins!

One of the delights of rural Tasmania in spring is the new life all around.

Trees, shrubs and plants are in bloom, paddocks are bright green, and baby animals play.

We had early lambs this year and thought the ewes were done. Not so, as the pix show.

Such feeble, innocent creatures newborn lambs are, the polar opposite of the ever-present crows cawing overhead, awaiting easy pickings.

It has been a big lamb season, the ram has been a quiet achiever. He looks like he doesn’t have the energy.

The sheep are dorper/wiltipoll crosses. They will keep the paddocks down, as being surrounded by long dry grass is not good when you live on a windy hill during a hot summer.

Meanwhile, here’s proof our orphan lambs are well looked after.

DON’T SCROLL DOWN if you don’t want to see the birth.
